Junior hockey officials facing the axe

KARACHI: The management of national junior hockey team is likely to be replaced as differences between the PHF top brass and head coach Olympian Manzoor-ul-Hasan have reached a new high, sources told ‘The News’ on Saturday.
Manzoor is also yet to receive any directive for his next assignment.
It was also learnt that the PHF is still undecided about the training camp of national junior hockey team which was due to begin citing the shortage of funds as a reason.
The Ministry of IPC has informed PHF that some breakthrough is expected regarding the release of funds during the national hockey team’s meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on February 11.
According to sources, PHF is also offering Manzoor the role of consultant to PHF president in order to pacify the former Olympian as it wanted him replaced because of national junior team’s below par performances.
