Siraj asks SC to take suo moto notice of oil tanker fire incident
AHMEDPUR SHARQIA: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) ameer Sirajul Haq Saturday visited Ahmedpur Sharqia to condole with the affected families and asked the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan to take suo moto notice of the incident and conduct investigations.Talking to the media, the JI chief expressed grief over the tragedy and said the government is responsible for poverty in Pakistan. He said he has no faith in the government inquiry into the incident, therefore, the apex court should take notice of the incident and conduct inquiry.
He said the rulers could not bring reforms despite making tall claims. He said progress is not made by making toll plazas.
Sirajul Haq demanded the government to announce economic package for the people of the area.
He said the government should take the injured abroad for treatment if needed.
The JI chief also listened to the problems of the natives and went to the graves of the deceased and prayed for them. He said the death toll could have been reduced had the administration controlled the situation.
It is pertinent to mention that 190 people have died so far as a result of an oil tanker explosion in Ahmedpur Sharqia just a day before Eid when people were scooping up spilled fuel from the overturned oil tanker.
