JIT won’t clear rulers of charges, says Siraj
LAHORE : Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has said the eyes of whole nation are on the joint investigation team (JIT) report which could enable the Supreme Court to decide the most important case before the apex court in country’s history.
He was talking to reporters at the residence of party leader Dr Abid Majeed at Jeddah before his departure for Pakistan after performing Aitkaf at the Holy Kaaba, said a message reached the JI headquarters Mansoora on Thursday.
According to JI press release, Sirajul Haq said the joint investigation team (JIT) had conducted the investigation and compelled the ruling family members to appear before it in their defence against the charges of money laundering and corruption.
However, he said, he did not think there had been something new before the joint investigation team (JIT) as all arguments and evidences had already been produced before the Supreme Court.
The Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer said Supreme Court bench had not cleared the ruling family of the charges and it could be safely concluded that JIT would also not clear them.
He said sectarianism was not the local product in Pakistan and it had been imported from outside. He said enemies of Islam had also adopted the strategy to divide the Muslims on the basis of sects, race and region and made them fight against each other.
He however said instead of blaming the enemy, we should put our own house in order. He said there were laws of the country and all should be equal before the law. Sirajul Haq said the army operation had started in the country to wipe out terrorism and there had been improvement due to the operation. But operation was not the permanent solution.
He said the permanent peace could be restored only through enforcing the Islamic system. Unfortunately, he said, the Islamic system could not be introduced in the country during the last 70 years. He said religious parties believing in Pakistan Ideology must stand united during the next elections for the enforcement of Islamic system.
