64th birth anniversary PPP KP leaders pay tribute to late Benazir Bhutto
PESHAWAR: Speakers at a ceremony regarding the 64th birth anniversary of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chairperson Benazir Bhutto paid tribute to their leader and vowed to follow her principles.
The PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa organised the function at the residence of party leader Sartaj Khan Dauranpur on Wednesday, where leaders and workers from various parts of Peshawar were present.
PPP provincial president Hamayun Khan directed the divisional and district presidents to hold functions in their respective areas to pay homage to Benazir Bhutto for her services for democracy.
Hamayun Khan recalled that BB had raised voice against every dictator and for the rights of people and never compromised on principles. He said that the party and its leadership had worked for the uplift of underprivileged people and encouraged them to stand up against their exploitation.
He said that Benazir Bhutto had also fought war for the poor and vulnerable section of society, including labourers, farmers, women, students and condemned terrorism in the country but added that the anti-people forces assassinated her.
"She wanted to make Pakistan strong and stable where every Pakistani would have Roti, Kapara and Makan," he added. He said the services of Bhutto's family for democracy would be remembered in the history. He said the party and its workers would now continue the mission of their leaders under the leadership of Asif Zardari and Bilwal Bhutto Zardari.
