Demos against arrest of Dasti in Multan
MULTAN: The Pakistan Seraiki Party and Seraiki Youth Movement activists staged demonstrations against the arrest of MNA Jamshed Dasti and demanded his immediate release here on Monday.
The PSP activists, led by party senior leader Javed Iqbal Channar, staged a demonstration at the Chowk Aziz and criticised the arrest of MNA Jamshed Dasti. Javed Channar said that Dasti had the right to attend the budget debate in parliament. He demanded the National Assembly speaker issue orders for production of Dasti. He said that the government had arrested Dasti for becoming the voice of Seraiki people. The arrest of Dasti had exposed the government’s policies and politics, he added. He said that the government should stop its illegitimate and dictatorial measures.
PSP Coordinator Ahmad Nawaz said that if Jamshed Dasti was not released, the party workers would stage a sit-in at Chenab Bridge. He demanded the government stop victimising political opponents.
The Seraiki Youth Movement activists staged a demonstration at Chowk Kumharanwala and shouted slogans against the government. The protesters warned of launching the countrywide protests if Jamshed Dasti was not released in the next 24 hours.
