Rulers responsible for all problems: Siraj
LAHORE
JI ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has held the rulers responsible for all problems in the country because they plundered national wealth trough loan, kickbacks and siphoning foreign loans in offshore companies while making the poor nation pay the debts to IMF and the World Bank.
Political and financial terrorists sitting in the corridors of power are far more dangerous for the county than the militants hiding in mountains, he said while addressing an Iftar dinner he hosted for senior journalists and columnists on Wednesday.
Sirajul Haq said political terrorists had divided the nation into groups on regional, ethnic and sectarian grounds under the western powers’ strategy of divide and rule. He said the country at present needed a complete national unity and harmony. He warned that only an Islamic Pakistan could salvage the nation against the western conspiracies to divide in the lines of regional, linguistic, secular and provincial biases. He said Pakistan was not made as a regional unity of provinces or for geographical identity. But it was created for a genuine ideology of implementing and practicing Islam. If we did not adhere to Islam, we would disintegrate into pieces, he added.
The JI chief said the elite ruling the county for the last 70 years had turned Pakistan into a country full of problems and the very existence of Pakistan was in danger because of their ideological and moral corruption. The elements responsible for the creation of Bangladesh had now become a security risk for Pakistan. He said people involved in Panama Leaks, owners of offshore companies and the families getting huge bank loans written off were a cancer for the country in whose presence the country could not grow. He said JI was fighting against corruption.
The JI chief said weaknesses of parliamentary system had led to the rise of numerous crimes. The country was facing poverty, unemployment, illiteracy and loadshedding, he said and added the rulers were claiming that the country was producing 18500-MW record electricity and the demand for the electricity was around 19500-MW. He asked why full day loadshedding was being carried out to meet the shortfall of only one thousand megawatt. Sirajul Haq said the problems of poverty and insecurity could be overcome by making Pakistan an Islamic Pakistan and added that an Islamic Pakistan alone could keep all the provinces united.
