OKARA: A man allegedly set on fire his sister over a land issue at 44/D village on Tuesday.
Irshad Bibi, d/o Muhammad Siddiq, had inherited a 3-Kanal land from her father but her brother accused Muhammad wanted to get the land from her sister. On the day of the incident, the accused allegedly sprinkled kerosene oil on Irshad Bibi and allegedly set her ablaze. As a result, she received severe burns and rushed to a hospital in critical condition. Sadar Depalpur police have registered a case.
PHYSICAL REMAND GRANTED: Renala Khurd Magistrate Masood Tariq on Tuesday granted a three-day physical remand of Anjuman-e-Mazareen Punjab Renala State president Nadeem Ashraf.
Earlier, Nadeem was brought to the court under a tight security. Meanwhile, AIG Investigation Tariq Masood Yaseen would appear in the LHC to submit report against Nadeem Ashraf on Jan 28. Meanwhile, DPO Faisal Rana has introduced a new security system for all educational institutions of the district under title ‘Digital Mapping Security System’. The security in-charges of all the institutions would be provided with a SIM and in case of any emergency, the security in-charges would press hash on the cell and the DMSS installed at the DPO office would immediately inform the staff about the exact location and place of the incident. The DPO told that five experienced and expert police officers had been assigned to perform duty on this system and take immediate action after getting information.
