‘CPEC to change fate of GB’

Islamabad: A seminar titled ‘Social Impact of CPEC and Vision of One Belt One Road on Gilgit-Baltistan’ was organised by National Council of Social Welfare (NCSW), for public awareness, says a press release.

NCSW Chairman Dr. Nadeem Shafiq Malik chaired the seminar while Iqbal Hassan, Minister for Information, Planning and Development, Gilgit-Baltistan was the chief guest. Representatives of civil society, NGOs, students, and intellectuals of Gilgit-Baltistan, and other stakeholders attended the seminar.

NCSW chairman in his address deliberated that China’s vision of One Belt One Road would change the fate of Pakistan especially Gilgit-Baltistan which is the gateway of CPEC. Pakistan has become the most geo-economic important country of the region due to the successful financial policies of the government. Pakistan is about to become the hub of financial activities because of CPEC. The living standard of Gilgit-Baltistan is improving and CPEC would impart exemplary benefits to the people of that area. In future, the people of Gilgit-Baltistan will get better job opportunities that will change the fate of that area. The enemies of our country intend to harm this project. We can fail their ill-intentions by the Quaid-i-Azam’s golden advice of unity, faith and discipline.

Other speakers Naseer Gillani, Chief Planning Commission, Faiz-ullah-Faraq, spokesperson Government of Gilgit-Baltistan, Ali Ahmed Jan, Social Activists of Gilgit-Baltistan and Amir Ali, prominent journalist said the Government of China is worth prise for successfully organising One Belt One Road conference. CPEC is the pivot of One Belt One Road Policy. It is a game changer for the entire region. Especially people of Gilgit-Baltistan consider this project, a hope of progress and prosperity.
