HAFIZABAD: A five-year-old boy died after falling into an open manhole here on Saturday.
Muhammad Kashif with his father Muhammad Dawood had gone to a marriage hall to attend a wedding when he accidentally fell into a nearby open manhole and died. After the incident, DCO Muhammad Usman reached the house of the victim and ordered a case against the responsible TMA officials. On his orders, the Jalalpur Bhattian police registered a case against Pindi Bhattian TMO Intesam Shah, the TO I&S and Sub-Engineers Muhammad Bilal and Sajjad on the charge of negligence. Meanwhile, DCO Muhammad Usman has also suspended the booked officials.

HAFIZABAD: Students of a local college took out a rally against the publication of blasphemous sketches by a French magazine.
The protesters led by Qazi Hamid marched from City Police Station Road to Fawara Chowk. They chanted slogans against France and demanded public hanging of the blasphemer.
