PM should resign till JIT report: Siraj
LAHORE
JI ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has warned that if the prime minister sticks to his office after allegations against him and dark spot on him, more doubts will continue to arise during JIT investigation against him.
The prime minister should step down from his office till the result of the investigation comes out, Siraj said while addressing the concluding session of National Labour Federation convention at Mansoora on Tuesday.
Sirajul Haq recalled that prime ministers of three countries had resigned from their offices after surfacing of Panama leaks allegations against them. However, he said, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had not taken this honourable course although two judges of the Supreme Court had pronounced him guilty.
The JI chief said entire opposition had been guaranteeing to the prime minister that he could resume his office if he was cleared by the court, but he refused to take that option. He said the prime minister’s refusal to that offer suggested that he was afraid he would not be able to return.
