‘Chakwal by-poll results eye-opener for opponents’
CM greets winning candidate; says PML-N most
popular political party even after passage of four years
LAHORE
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that victory of Pakistan Muslim League-N candidate Sheheryar Awan in Chakwal by-elections is the triumph of service, honesty and transparency.
He said the results of by-elections have once again proved that people of Pakistan have complete confidence in the leadership and policies of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
He said that the results of Chakwal by-election are an eye-opener for the elements doing negative politics, adding that Pakistan Muslim League-N government has always focused on selfless public service due to which Pakistan Muslim League-N is the most popular political party even after the passage of four years and people of Pakistan want continuity of the policies of the PML-N government under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif.
Congratulating the winning candidate, Shahbaz Sharif said that people have exposed those indulging in the politics of baseless allegations and proved that there is no room for negative politics in front of politics of honesty, service and transparency.
He said that the Pakistan Muslim League-N government has set new example of public service during four years and the people have proved that they love the Pakistan Muslim League-N leadership.
disaster insurance plan: Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting here Wednesday in which he expressed displeasure over delay in giving a final shape to Disaster Insurance Plan and ordered an inquiry in this regard.
Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that delay in the programme to provide relief to calamity-hit people cannot be tolerated and a comprehensive system of insurance is necessary to compensate the losses of people caused due to calamities especially floods.
He said apart from human deaths, the loss of crops, houses and livestock should also be included in the insurance plan and this plan be finalised as soon as possible.
The meeting also reviewed various proposals regarding launch of insurance plan. Provincial Ministers Malik Nadeem Kamran, Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Ijaz Ahmed Achlana, chief secretary and secretaries of the departments concerned were also present on the occasion.
