IED & arms seized in Hangu
HANGU: The police foiled a terrorism bid by seizing an improvised explosive device (IED) and a cache of arms during search and strike operations at various areas falling in the limits of the Hangu Police Station on Monday, official sources said.
They said the police launched search and strike operations in Lakhti Banda, Gul Bagh Killay, Jozara area, Lodhikhel and Oach bazaar and seized three kilogram IED, two hand-grenades, Kalashnikov rifle, five pistols, two shotguns and one kilogram of hashish. The police also arrested 26 suspected persons and a proclaimed offender during the search operation.
Meanwhile, the police checked 674 vehicles, 244 motorbikes through vehicle verification systems and criminal record of 550 suspected persons through criminal record verification system.
