Youth urged to become world champions in integrity

Islamabad: National Accountability Bureau director general (awareness and prevention) Aliya Rashid has said that the people should join the war against corruption and Pakistani youths should become world champions in integrity.

She was delivering a motivational lecture to the students of Riphah University as part of the campaign on awareness and prevention against corruption and proactive efforts to encourage youth to identify and report corruption.

The official said the nation belonged to its youths, who were the makers of tomorrow and future of the country. She talked about various forms of corruption and the way they damaged the society.

The official recalled Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s words that corruption is a poison and we must put it down with iron hand. “Young people are one of the most important agents of change in the fight against corruption,” she said.

Aliya Rashid asked girl students that on the day of their marriage, they should take a pledge from their husbands that he will say no to corruption.

She said mothers had a major impact in bringing up children and their attitude and development.  The official said ‘say no to corruption’ was intended to target young women in universities and colleges as they were going to be future mothers.Riphah International University Vice Chancellor Prof Anis Ahmad later presented a shield and souvenir to the NAB DG.
