Crackdown against loudspeakers’ misuse underway

OKARA: The police booked 151 people so far in a continuing crackdown against loudspeakers misuse, wall chalking and hate literature.
The police under the direction of DPO Faisal Rana has registered 151 cases of misuse of amplifier in mosques and arrested 123 clerics.
Similarly, police registered 38 cases under section 9 of Anti-Terrorist Act and arrested four accused involved in distribution of hate literature and cases against 6 over writing objectionable slogans on walls.
According to the DPO, under the special directions of the Punjab government it had been conveyed to all SHOs that in case of any violation of the government instructions, the SHO concerned would immediately be suspended.
JOURNALIST FAMILY LOOTED: Dacoits deprived family members of a local journalist of cash and valuables on Monday on Depalpur road.
Dacoits entered house of journalist Zafar Iqbal Chaudhary, and held the whole family hostage and took away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables.
WOMAN END LIFE: A woman committed suicide on Monday.
Allah Maffi, known as Shama Bibi, widow of Imran, exchanged harsh words with her family members and shot herself dead in village 23/2L.
