Zardari warns of tit-for-tat
Promises aggressive innings; says no more compromises with PML-N and politics of reconciliation; Bilawal fully empowered
LAHORE: Former president Asif Ali Zardari is all set to give tough time to the federal government, as he warned of tit-for-tat response, saying the politics of reconciliation were over.
Talking to the PPP leaders, Zardari said there would be no more compromises with the PML-N and promised to play an aggressive innings. He told the party leaders that PPP Chairman Bilawal’s spirit and his experience would produce a new political power in the country.
He said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was fully capable and enjoyed full authority over the party affairs. He would lead the PPP, Zardari added, making it clear that his party would befittingly reply to both the PML-N and PTI.
He also announced holding a rally in Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar’s constituency at Chakri. Separately, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah in a statement said the government was trying to absolve itself of responsibility by terming everything as a conspiracy, adding that the abnormal increase in the prices of chicken meat and vegetable was a government failure.
Khursheed asked the government not to hide its failure in checking the prices of edible items. Similarly, Senator Saeed Ghani hit back at critics by claiming that development work was being carried out in Sindh. "Development work is being carried out in Sindh. All one needs to do is to check the progress of schemes online and tell us where the work is not being carried out," said Ghani.
