Cop shot dead in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Unidentified assailants shot dead a cop near Mandi Town falling in the limits of the University Police Station on Saturday, official sources said.
They said that a policeman identified as Muhammad Tahir Marwat was on his way home after performing duty with the census team in Mandi Town when unidentified gunmen fired at him, killing him instantly. The accused fled the scene.
Following the incident, the police party reached the spot and started search operation after besieging the area. Several suspected persons, who were arrested in the search operation, were taken to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
