Amir Muqam asks Asad Qaiser to quit as speaker
NOWSHERA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Advisor to Prime Minister Amir Muqam has asked Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly speaker to step down.
Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday, the PML-N leader said that Speaker Asad Qaiser should resign from his position until the National Accountability Bureau clears him of corruption charges.
"The speaker can't avoid his imminent fate by adjourning the session of the KP Assembly. The best way for him is to vacate the seat for a member with good record," he added. The PML-N leader said that the ruling party was involved in harassment of councillors through horse-trading.
Muqam said that ideological workers who had founded Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were joining PML-N that proved that the ruling party was destined to lose the next general election. Scores of workers of other political parties also announced joining the PML-N.
