Sialkot, Multan, DM Jamali win QT matches
KARACHI: Sialkot, Multan and Dera Murad Jamali won their matches of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Grade-II at different venues on Tuesday.
In their Group A match at Multan Stadium, Sialkot overwhelmed Bahawalpur by ten wickets.
Sialkot achieved the 63 runs target in nine overs.
Having conceded 124 runs lead, Bahawalpur resumed their second innings at 38-4 and were bowled out for 186 in the 65th over.
Imranullah Aslam made 66 with six fours and two sixes. Riasat Ali made 40. Left-arm Test spinner Abdul Rehman got 6-53, for a match haul of 9-118.
Bahawalpur scored 222 in their first innings. In response, Sialkot piled up 346-9. At Niaz Stadium, Hyderabad, DM Jamali overpowered Quetta by nine wickets.
DM Jamali achieved the 49-run target in the seventh over for the loss of one wicket. Shehbaz Ali remained not out on 27-ball 51 which included eight fours and one six.
Quetta, who had conceded 173 runs lead, were bowled out for 221 in their second innings with Taimoor Khan blasting 68, which had eight fours.
Nasir Khan got four wickets, while Saleem Mal captured three.
Quetta posted 121 in their first innings. In response, DM Jamali made 294-9 in the allotted 83 overs.
In a Group A clash, at Dring Stadium, Bahawalpur, Multan defeated Larkana by seven wickets despite conceding lead.
Larkana, who had gained 79 runs lead, failed to bat well in the second innings and were folded for 175, which set 255 runs target for Multan, who raced to the target in 60 overs for the loss of three wickets. Zain Abbas (124) and Imran Rafiq (112*) struck fine hundreds. Larkana scored 227 in their first innings. In response, Multan perished for 148.
