Siraj leaves for Saudi Arabia to attend global conference
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq left for Saudi Arabia on Saturday on a weeklong visit along with a high level delegation to participate in a three-day conference of Rabita Alame Islami in the holy city of Makkah and to offer Umrah.
JI Information Secretary Amirul Azeem said in the absence of Senator Sirajul Haq, JI secretary general Liaqat Baloch will be discharging duties of acting ameer of the party.
He said Liaqat Baloch took oath as acting Ameer of the party at a simple ceremony at Mansoorah on Saturday.
Talking to the media after the ceremony, Liaqat Baloch said the sudden visits of the prime minister across the country with programmes of huge development schemes reflected his sense of extreme unrest.
He said all proof presented before the Supreme Court in the Panama Leaks case by the prime minister’s family had contradictions in every paragraph.
