Rangers DG briefed on operation against terrorists

LAHORE

Punjab Rangers Director General Azhar Naveed Hayat Khan on Friday visited front line in tribal areas of Dera Ghazi Khan. He monitored the progress of ongoing operations against terrorists and applauded the efforts of security forces. He was briefed that at least five terrorists had been killed, seven arrested while a huge cache of weapons and explosives recovered in different raids. The DG vowed to continue operation until the elimination of last terrorist for which every possible step will be taken, he added.

traffic violations: Punjab Highway Patrol registered cases against 233 commuters on traffic rules violation. Moreover, the PHP arrested a man on charges of wheelie-doing and two thieves and recovered a stolen tractor battery and an illicit weapon from their possession. Similarly the PHP team arrested four persons and recovered a gas cylinder from their possession.

SECURITY: Five thousand police officials performed duty in the provincial metropolis to ensure foolproof security at mosques and Imambargahs on Friday. The CCPO said that all available resources were being utilised to protect life and property of citizens and combat terrorism.

ACCIDENTS: Total 746 road traffic accidents were reported in Provincial Monitoring Cell of the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours; in which 10 lives were lost and 651 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant districts and tehsils. However, some 229 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were discharged on the spot after provision of first aid by Emergency Medical Teams.

ARRESTED: Model Town Investigation police arrested a man on charges of killing a eunuch some months back. The victim identified as Fiaz alias Muskan of Kucha Jail Road, Quaid-e-Millat Colony, Chungi Amar Sadhu, was stabbed to death by the accused identified as Suffian. The accused Suffian told that he had been fed up with the demands of Muskan and killed him.

Cops rewarded: The DIG Operations gave away cash prizes and commendatory certificates to the officials of Dolphin Squad for arresting a robber in the Naulakha area. The arrested robber was identified as Ghulam Ali. Those who received the cash prizes and certificates included ASI Abdul Rauf, Adnan, Zohaib and Abdul Rehman.

2 Filipinas arrested: Gulberg police arrested two Filipino women and registered a case against them under Foreign Act.

The arrested women,
identified as Daratagwar and Rosareo, were illegally
residing in a house at Sultan Park, Gulberg.
