KOHAT: The students and teachers in Kohat district became concerned after a group of Pakistani militants claiming links with the Afghan Taliban sent a threatening letter to the management of the Kohat Law College to shut down the college.
The Kohat Law College received the threatening letter in Pashto language from Faizullah and Nabi Mullah, both claiming to be commanders of the Shindand group of local militants linked with the Afghan Taliban.
“We want to inform you that your college and all other educational institutions in your vicinity have been provided an opportunity to close down but you ignored the warning. This is the last warning and you will be responsible for the consequences if the institutions were not closed after receiving this letter,” the letter warned.
Talking to The News, Kohat’s District Police Officer (DPO) Salim Khan Marwat said that two militants, Faizullah and Nabi Mullah, claiming to be commanders of the Shindand group sent the letter to the Kohat Law College.He said that the security of the schools and colleges had been beefed up after the threat.
