Quetta, Chaman off to winning start
KARACHI: Quetta and Chaman were off to a superb start when they recorded victories in their opening round matches of the PPL Balochistan Football Cup 2017 being held at different centres of Balochistan.
In the game played at Quetta, the hosts crushed Pishin 4-1, while in the other show Chaman defeated Chaghi 5-2.
Meanwhile in the other matches, Qilla Saifullah whipped Barkhan 4-1, Pasni defeated Gwadar 2-0, Kohlu edged past Dera Bugti 3-0 and Naseerabad annihilated Sohbatpur 4-1.
In another one-sided affair, Kharan demolished Kalat 6-1 and Khuzdar defeated Mastung 1-0.
As many as 37 outfits from Balochistan are featuring in the event whose final would be conducted at Quetta on April 2.
Twelve teams will compete in the final round which will be hosted by Quetta at Malibagh Football Ground where floodlights arrangement has already been made.
A play-off round will also be held on March 18 at Malibagh Football Ground Quetta and their winners will also enter the final phase. The first play-off will be held between the runners-up of Quetta division and Quetta City, a team which will play the play-off directly.
The second play-off will be staged between the runners-up Kalat division and runners-up Sibi division.
In every match, bonuses will be given to the teams and cash prizes for the man of the match in each clash will also be offered.
