PPP doesn’t accept govt’s show-off drama: Zardari
Fata reforms
Says if Imran extends olive branch, his party to consider it
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday said the PPP did not accept the show-off drama of the government on Fata reforms and if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan extended an olive branch, the PPP would think whether to accept it or not.
He said that reforms in the Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (Fata) were dreamt by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. "The Fata should have full unit like other provinces like Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan and whenever the FATA reforms came in parliament, the PPP will stand with the people of Fata," he said while talking to newsmen here Wednesday after Ijaz Durrani from Hazara joined the PPP.
Asif Ali Zardari said though the PPP wanted Fata reforms, it did not accept the show off drama of the government as the government's position on Fata was not clear. "We want to see empowerment of the people of Fata," he added. To a question on the Panama case, Zardari said he would comment on it when the decision was announced as currently the judgment was reserved on it.
