Suspicious bike riders create panic in Charsadda
CHARSADDA: A state of panic was created as the security guard of the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) office here Thursday fired at three suspicious bike riders in Tangi area in the district.
It was learnt that the security guard of NADRA office noticed three bike riders moving suspiciously outside the office on Tangi road and opened fire on them. The suspected bike riders escaped after retaliatory firing, an official said, adding, the policemen reached the NADRA office soon after they were informed about the incident. They cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
Police officials said that they spotted the suspected persons and fired at them and the exchange of fire continued for some time.However, the suspected persons managed to escape after the exchange of fire with police.
There has been heightened concern among the people in Tangi followed the recent terrorist attack on the Kutchery, or local courts, in which eight persons were killed and many others were wounded. The three suicide bombers had tried to enter the Kutchery on February 21, but alert cops at its entrance had foiled the attempt and saved many lives.
