Bahria wins Basketball Championship
Islamabad: Bahria University won the HEC Inter University Basketball Championship (Zone C) 2016-17, which was held at Bahria University Sports Gymnasium at Islamabad Campus.
There were eleven teams from Islamabad/Rawalpindi region which participated in the tournament, including NUST, Intl. Islamic University, Quaid-i-Azam University, PIEAS, FAST, NUML, MAJU, COMSATS, UET, Arid Agriculture University and Bahria University. Throughout the event all teams showed tremendous sportsman spirit and professionalism. Four teams qualified for the semi-finals including Bahria University, Islamic University, NUST and Arid Agricultural University. Both Bahria and Islamic University qualified for the final after beating their opponents earlier in the day.
This is the sixth consecutive time that Bahria University has emerged as the champions in HEC Inter University Basketball Championship of Zone C showing a very consistence performance. Both Bahria and Islamic University have now qualified for All Pakistan Inter-Universities championship.
