From Our Correspondent
KASUR: All government and private schools reopened on Monday without adopting security arrangements as directed by the government after the Peshawar massacre.
It is learnt that instructions were issued to the District Education Department to complete security measures, including constructions of boundary walls, installation of CCTV cameras and making fences, but only 40 per cent schools had taken security arrangements on the government’s directions. The government had also directed to depute security guards but no guards were deputed at the schools. It is also learnt that Rs 45 million were given to the EDO Education under the Farogh Taleem Programme but the administration of the schools were asked to make security measures by their own sources. Meanwhile, very thin attendance of the students was recorded at the schools in the district.
