Cold storage at Sialkot airport planned

SIALKOT: Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) plans to establish a food cold storage centre at Sialkot International Airport, SCCI President Fazal Jilani said on Saturday.
Jilani said the SCCI was trying to obtain funds from the Export Development Fund (EDF) for undertaking the cold storage project.
Expressing confidence in the federal government’s support and cooperation for the project, he said that the concept is to increase the export of fruits, meat, and vegetables and to generate employment opportunities.
He added that fresh turnip, cauliflower, tomato, potato, peas, okra, bitter gourd, kinnow, guava, and meat could be exported at a satisfactory return for the farmer community.
