FAISALABAD: Efforts have been expedited to get full share of gas for Faisalabad besides launching a vigorous crackdown against illegal compressors on domestic gas connections, particularly during the winter.
This was stated by SNGPL General Manager Amjad Mumtaz during a meeting with businessmen at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) on Friday. He said that the government had framed national energy and gas load management policies and the company would strictly adhere to it. “Some people have installed compressors illegally to get maximum gas. This practice is not only dangerous but also deprives others of their share of gas. A campaign has been launched against the illegal compressors. So far 100 compressors have been removed and action has been taken against the violators,” he added. Gas Officer Syed Zia Alamdar Hussain said that installation of two different types of meters on same premises had been prohibited to minimise gas pilferage.
