KARACHI: Sara Mansoor brushed aside Hania Naveed, while Sarah Mahboob eliminated Mahnoor Suhail in straight sets in the first round of ladies singles in Serena Hotels Asian Tennis Tour at S Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex in Islamabad.
Sara Mansoor defeated Hania by 6-2, 6-1, while Sarah Mahboob thrashed Mahnoor Sohail 6-0, 6-0.
Meheq Khokhar also recorded a 6-0, 6-0 against Eshaal Khan.
Shimza Tahir defeated Esha Jawad by 6-1, 6-1. Sara Banoo overcame Arooj by 6-4, 7-5.
Mahin Aftab trounced Rukhsana Abid by 6-0, 6-0. Bakhtawar Haider eased into the second round as she got a walkover against Imsha Jawad.
Shiza Sajid overcame stubborn Yasha Atiq Khan by 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the only three-set encounter of the day in the event.
In boys Under-18 singles pre-quarter-finals, Muzammil Murtaza thrashed Hamza Bin Rehan by 6-1, 6-4. Aman Atiq overpowered Kashan Umer by 6-0, 6-1.
In boys Under-14 singles pre-quarter-finals, M Shoaib beat Shayan Shamraiz by 4-1, 4-1. Hamza Bin Rehan trounced M Talha Khan by 4-0, 4-0.
