PIA aircraft escapes disaster in Multan

MULTAN: A Karachi-bound PIA aircraft escaped disaster late on Sunday as it stopped after its engine caught fire moments before taking off.

According to Geo News, the pilot informed the control tower about the fire and stopped the plane.

Passengers were scheduled to be sent to Karachi through another flight.

The Civil Aviation Authority said the aircraft engine caught fire due to a technical fault.  The fire was put off.
