MANSEHRA: A court on Wednesday dismissed the petition of a woman professor of Hazara University for registration of first information report (FIR) against vice-chancellor and registrar of the varsity.
In the petition, she had alleged that the vice-chancellor and registrar had confined and harassed her.Sumaira Wali, additional district and sessions judge Mansehra, dismissed the petition of Prof Zubaida Chaudhry after hearing the arguments from her counsel.
Shahzad Ahmad Khan appearing for the petitioner elaborated the points his client had made in the petition filed on November 7. Zubaida Chaudhry, an associate professor at the Botany Department of Hazara University, in her petition pleaded the court to order the in-charge of Shinkiari Police Station to register the FIR against the vice-chancellor and registrar of Hazara University.
She had alleged that both the officials had developed enmity towards her since she was interviewed for the office of vice-chancellor. She alleged that she was harassed in the name of disciplinary inquiry.In the petition, Zubaida Chaudhry said the in-charge of Shinkiari Police Station was not registering the FIR. However, the court dismissed the petition.
