Several victims of hotel fire laid to rest in Khairpur, other cities

SUKKUR: Several victims of the Karachi hotel fire were laid to rest in Khairpur, Nausharoferoz and Talhar. District Health Officer Dr. Rahim Solangi was laid to rest near Kandyaro. A large number of colleagues of Dr. Rahim Solangi attended his funeral. Also the funerals of Dr. Muhammad Alim Jamali, Dr Sher Ali Khawaja and Nurse Irfana Fatima Zaidi were held in their respective cities. Meanwhile, Dr. Nisar Phulpoto, district health officer of Khairpur, who survived the hotel fire, was in a state of shock and was unable to recount the tragedy. All that he had to say was that he wanted to see an inquiry into the incident that had robbed him of some of his best colleagues. Paramedical staff in several hospitals observed a mourning day.
