PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday stayed promotion of medical officers and dental surgeons in the province till next order.
A single bench of Justice Irshad Qaiser issued the order in a writ petition of medical officers working in different government-run hospitals. Up to 22 medical officers working in different hospitals, including Lady Reading Hospital, districts hospitals and agencies headquarters hospitals had filed the petition.
They had sought regularisation of services from date of their appointment, seniority and other pension benefits. The petitioners included Dr Yousaf Khan from Mohmand Agency and Dr Wali Khan from the LRH.
The bench also issued notice to the provincial government through chief secretary and Health Department secretary to submit replies before next hearing.
