Union with Nawaz to benefit democracy, parliament: Achakzai
Says bribery common among generals, judges, members of parliament, civil
and military bureaucracy
PISHIN: Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai on Friday addressed a gathering on the 43rd death anniversary of Abdul Samad Achakzai in the Taj Lala Stadium of Pishin.
In this gathering, he said he had promised his people that he would never let them down. He added that the union with Nawaz Sharif was primarily formed to benefit democracy and parliament, and the rights of people in the long-run. Achakzai claimed that he didn’t avail any luxury even after continuous requests by Nawaz Sharif.
The PkMAP chief said that he wanted to make this country a real federation where leaders would assume positions by getting public votes -- for only a real federation could preserve integrity of this country. He also added that the armed forces of Pakistan should have no right to indulge in political affairs and election process of the country.
On the other hand, he also claimed that their area and the country were badly affected by brutal incidents of terrorism in the past few months. He said that the terrorist attacks at the Civil Hospital, Police Training Centre and Shah Noorani were a stern reminder to restore peace in the country.
He further added that after Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, such attacks in Balochistan would only take us towards destruction. He appealed to all the political parties, especially learned scholars, to form a union by keeping in view the fragile situation of the country.
He also asked Maulana Fazlur Rehman to stand with him to fight for the rights of Pashtoons. He said that he urged Maulana Fazlur Rehman to help him fight for Pashtoon union from Bolan to Chitral. Achakzai also offered him to impose Islamic rule over there as per his wishes.
Later, Achakzai said that bribery and corruption were common among judges, generals, members of parliament, civil and military bureaucracy. He added that women have been given a lot of rights by Islam but we have kept their Islamic rights on one side. He showed concern by adding that women were not getting the rights as per the obligations of Islam.
The PkMAP leader urged that the workers of his party must not be embroiled in unfounded controversies. He said that the CPEC would never be successful until there is restoration of peace between Pakistan and Afghanistan. He urged both countries to have talks in order to avoid war and to develop the CPEC. Achakzai said that he had already talked to Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, Ghulam Ahmed Bilour and Maulana Fazlur Rehman about this project, claiming that his party would help advance the goals of CPEC.
