3 injured in roof collapse

GUJRANWALA: Three people, including a woman, suffered injuries when a roof collapsed on them at Alipur Chattha on Thursday.

Reportedly, Tariq Ghafoor, Asghar Rasool and Gulshan Rashid were present in their home when the roof of their room collapsed.

They were pulled out of debris and were rushed to the DHQ Hospital, Gujranwala.

DIES IN ACCIDENT: One youth died in a road accident at Budha Goraya on Thursday.

Reportedly, Akram and his brother Asghar were riding a motorcycle when their motorbike hit a donkey cart, leaving Akram dead on the spot and Asghar wounded. He was rushed to the DHQ, Hospital.

FARMERS GET CHEQUES: Some 25 farmers were given cheques under ‘Kissan Khushhal Scheme’ during a cheque distribution ceremony held under the Agricultural Development Bank on Thursday.

Talking to reporters, Chief Operating Officer Mian Amir Hussain said farmers having upto 12 acres of land would be entitled to get loan under this scheme on no profit no loss basis.

He said the bank is fully committed to providing farmers with modern technology and agricultural loan to boost agriculture sector in the country.
