Witnesses identify Kapri, Bobby as Rangers’ killers

Two eyewitnesses identified Asim alias Kapri and Ishaq alias Bobby as the killers of four paramilitary soldiers at an identification parade held before a judicial magistrate on Thursday.

The two eyewitnesses picked out Asim and Ishaq from a lineup of 10 men. The case regarding the murder of the four Rangers soldiers had been lodged with the Ittehad Town police.

The accused, Asim alias Kapri and Ishaq alias Bobby, are also facing charges of murdering famed qawwal, Amjad Sabri, in June this year, and also Military Police personnel. Moreover, they are also accused of killing five people in an attack on a majlis in North Nazimabad in the first week of November.

Jail term

A man, Faizan, was sentenced to jail for four years by the Additional District and Sessions Judge (East) Muhammad Ehsan Durrani. While the convict had been arrested by the Awami Colony police for trying to rob a shop, the jail sentence was given because he possessed an illegal, unlicensed pistol.
