Officials warned of duplicate uplift schemes
From Our Correspondent
JHANG: TMA Administrator Babar Bashir has asked the Infrastructure and Services (I&S) officials to restrain from approve unjustified and duplicate development schemes, which is the main cause of public grievances against the TMA.
He said that he would visit all proposed sites before approving development schemes to avoid duplication. Earlier through public complaints, the administrator was informed that the Punjab government had provided huge funds to TMAs to improve services, but the TMA officials were allegedly utilising public funds in executing fake development projects.
They pointed out that during the last two years, billions of rupees had been released, but the city was giving a dirty pond-like look. They said that influential people with the connivance of TMA officials had raised the streets in front of their houses, diverting the sewage towards the houses of the people. When contacted, TMA Administrator Babar Bashir said that he had stopped the approvals of development schemes without site inspections.
