BAHAWALPUR: The PPP leadership on Monday observed the 87th birth anniversary of PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in the district.
In a function held at the residence of PPP Bahawalpur district president Sardar Amer Yar Waran at Gulzar Sadiq, a large numbers of party activists and office-bearers including the party’s general secretary Muhammad Ali Ahsan, information secretary Muhammad Saleem Bhatti and PPP Women Wing district president Kanwal Malik, cut a cake amid slogans chanted by the workers in favour of ZAB who sacrificed his life for democracy and the party. Addressing the function, Amer Yar Waran and Saleem Bhatti said that the sacrifices of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto were everlasting and their services for democracy and the country would be remembered. Another ceremony was held at the residence of PPP Tehsil Yazman president Asghar Ali Gill at Chak 69/DB, Tehsil Yazman. A large number of PPP workers attended the function.

The birth anniversary was observed with simplicity due to Peshawar school attack. However, cake was cut in all functions. PPP City president Rana Khalid Mahmood, Amir Jabbar Ch and other party leaders paid tributes to ZAB in their speeches in different functions.
