SWABI: Unidentified motorcyclists Saturday shot dead a Pashto folk singer in Zareenabad village of Kotha Union Council, police officials said.
They said Darvesh Khan was at home when two motorcyclists knocked at the door and sprayed him with bullets as soon as he came out.
“Darvesh Khan received several bullets in his body and died on the spot,” an official said.
Locals said that the way he was killed indicated that the militants might be involved in the incident. However, officials at the City Police Station, Topi, said the singer was having two wives and the incident might have been caused by family issues. He was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard at Zareenabad.
