Call to equip youths with skills to get advantage from CPEC

FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) vice-president Engineer Ahmed Hassan Tuesday said to get advantages from the CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) we must equip our youth with necessary skills.
Distributing cheques of monthly scholarship among 42 students of Laboratory Technical College, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, he said huge chunk of Pakistani youth could be converted into a precious asset by equipping them with different skills under Prime Minister Skill Development Programme.
He said the CPEC would not only resolve the most complicated issue of unemployment but also pave way for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
He said under the Prime Minister Skill Development Programme, matriculation, intermediate and B.Com students are getting practical training in the fields of IT and book keeping.
He asked the students to immediately provide their CVs for their early placement. He termed skilled youth as custodian of a prosperous Pakistan and said that under the CPEC projects, they will get reasonable salaries while working within the country.
He urged students to develop behavioural adoptability to get jobs in international firms and industrial units.
Director Laboratory Technical College Habibur Rehman and principal Shahid Pervaiz Chaudhry also attended the event. Later, Hassan distributed cheques among the students.
