Children’s Literature Festival concludes

BAHAWALPUR: A two-day Children’s Literature Festival was concluded, which was organised in connection with the World Children Day here on Sunday.
A large number of children from the south Punjab particular from Bahawalpur city participated in the event and enjoyed a lot this unique literature festival. Mrs Baela Raza Jamil, organising committee member welcomed DCO Dr Ahtesham Anwar and his team on the concluding day of the festival. The event was organised to create book reading interest in children and make them responsive to play their role for the peace and love in the society. Mrs Baela Raza Jamil while talking to The News claimed that it was the best Children Literature Festival organised during the last five years. She thanked the district administration and the DCO, children and their parents for participating in the festival and making the event colorful and successful.
DRUG INSPECTOR HELD FOR RUNNING ILLEGAL MEDICINES FACTORY: Assistant Commissioner City Rao Tasleem Akhtar on Sunday raided and arrested a man for running an illegal medicines factory at Musa Colony.
The AC and his team raided and arrested medicines factory owner Atiqur Rahman, who was also a drug inspector posted at Lodhran. According to the raiding team, thousands of substandard and spurious antibiotic and other medicines were seized during the raid, which were being manufactured illegally in the factory. Later, the factory was sealed.
THREE SUSPECTS HELD: Chishtian police arrested three suspected car riders just before the arrival of Markazi Tazia, Alum and Zuljinnah procession of the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) on Sunday evening.
The suspects were arrested near Markazi Imambargah Mehboob Colony. The arrested persons were shifted to some undisclosed place for interrogation. Meanwhile, the Chehlum procession of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) was concluded peacefully at Imambargah Mehboob Colony after reaching from Urdu Bazaar Chowk amid tight security.
BOY KILLED IN ACCIDENT: A 14-year-old boy was killed in an accident near Adda Musaffer Khana on Sunday.
Suleman was killed while three others sustained injuries when a truck collided with a motorcycle rickshaw on Ahmadpur East National Highway Section.
BODY FOUND: An unidentified dead body of a youth was found from Mohallah Islampura on Sunday. The police have sent the body to a hospital for post-mortem.
