Policeman killed in Sukkur encounter
SUKKUR: A policeman embraced martyrdom during an encounter with some bandits.
A bandit who was said to have been involved in the killing of 10 policemen also died in the encounter.
The encounter between the police and the criminals took place near Village Kalli Bangllani in Thulh, and it continued for three hours in which policeman Rafique Soomro embraced martyrdom while two of his colleagues, Khadim Soomro and Yaqoob Burriro, sustained serious injuries.
The bandit who died in the same encounter was identified as Soomar alias Kalli Bangllani, a suspect in the killing of 10 policemen and one who carried a head money of one million rupees.
The SSP of Jacobabad, Sajid Hussain Khokhar, said that there had been many cases of kidnappings and murders against Soomar. Meanwhile, the IGP of Sindh paid rich tribute to the martyred policeman.
