Role of civil society stressed to combat terrorism

MULTAN: The Awami Bethaks of the youth commission for human rights (YCHR) Saturday urged civil society to come forward to play its role in eliminating extremism and terrorism from society.
The YCHR planned to hold such gatherings in Basti Gareebabad, Basti Dari, Basti Sabzojat, Basti Sukhani, Ramzanabad and Basti Osman Abad to motivate the locals to rise against growing threats of terrorism.
The Awami Bethaks spread awareness among the locals about hazards of extremism and militancy. In its one unanimous resolution it vowed that we all are against menace of terrorism and extremism and being a responsible citizens we are duty bound performing role against extremism. We support all initiatives on eliminating terrorism and formation of speedy trial courts to execute terrorists.
The Awami Bethaks also said that civil society has its responsibility to uproot mohalla and street level network of facilitators of terrorists. The participants termed the Awami Bethaks solid tools against spread of terrorism.
