BHAKKAR: The EDO (Education) has released Rs 45 million for 77 schools of the district for security arrangements.
The amount was released on the direction of DCO Muhammad Zaman Wattoo. The Punjab government had issued instructions to provide security to all schools and in this regard schools having 500 or more students have been placed in category A wherein installation of close circuit cameras was made compulsory. All heads of institutions have been asked to utilize the funds to raise heights of boundary walls, installation of thorny fence on the walls and CCTV cameras before January 10.
EXCESSIVE FARE: Transporters have not decreased fares despite fall in oil prices. Moreover, shopkeepers have raised prices of meat, sugar and LPG gas. The locals have urged the district administration to look into the matter.
