Woman gives birth to child in ambulance

GUJRANWALA: A woman gave birth to a child in a Rescue-1122 ambulance at Kot Shahan on Thursday.
Reportedly, Muhammad Sajid was taking his seven-month pregnant wife to the District Headquarters Hospital when she gave birth to a baby in the ambulance. The woman and her child were admitted to the hospital where their condition is said to be stable.

ACE initiates inquiry against food controller, two others

GUJRANWALA: The Anti-Corruption Establishment has started an inquiry against three people, including a food controller, on the charges of smuggling wheat.
In an application to the CMIT, Amir Ali alleged that Food Controller Allah Ditta and his two brothers Safdar and Bashir bought wheat worth Rs 6.5 million from him and illegally smuggled it to Afghanistan. He said that the accused people had also refused to pay him the amount. The CMIT referred the matter to the Anti-Corruption Department, which has started investigation.
Meanwhile, ACE Director Ashfaq Ahmad ordered registration of a case against a headmaster and arrest of two people, including a Patwari. Headmaster Abdul Majeed of a government school was allegedly involved in an embezzlement case. An inquiry was conducted against him in which the allegations proved. Patwari Amir Nawaz and Muhammad Shahzad were involved in a forgery case and an inquiry officer had declared them guilty. To it, the ACE director issued orders to arrest them.
CASH, VALUABLES TAKEN AWAY: People were deprived of cash, gold ornaments, vehicles, laptops and other valuables in different incidents here on Thursday. Tariq Saeed was going to his office when two dacoits intercepted him at Satellite Town and snatched Rs 700,000 from him.
Two dacoits looted Rs 42,000 and a mobile phone from Iftikhar in Wazirabad Sadr police limits. Robbers snatched Rs 22,000, two mobile phones and other valuables from Turab at Ahmadnagar. Azmat was also deprived of Rs 30,000 and a mobile phone at the same location. Bandits looted Rs 32,000, two mobile phones and gold ornaments from Hammad at Alipur Chattha. Dacoits intercepted Asif and his friend Naveed at Gakhar Mandi and deprived them of Rs 34,000 and three mobiles phones. Dacoits looted Rs 20,000 and two mobile phones from Nadeem at Eminabad. Robbers snatched Rs 18,000 and a mobile phone from Hajra in Kamoke City police limits. Salamat was deprived of Rs 12,000 and a mobile phone at Satellite Town. Bandits snatched Rs 9,000, a motorcycle and a mobile phone from Alam at People’s Colony. Meanwhile, thieves took away cash, gold ornaments, laptops and other valuables from the houses of Waqar, Aslam, Arslan and Subhan. Police have registered separate cases.
