Schedule for LG polls on reserved seats issued

GUJRANWALA: The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued schedule for the election to be held on 3,046 Local Government reserved seats in the Gujranwala Division.
For this purpose, 289 polling stations would be set up in the division, it was said by Regional Election Commissioner Ch Aleem Shahab in a press briefing here on Friday. He told that 75 polling stations would be set up in Gujranwala district, 67 in Sialkot, 60 in Gujrat, 43 in Narowal, 29 in Mandi Bahauddin and 15 polling stations would be set up in Hafizabad district. He told that 289 presiding officers and 578 assistant presiding officers would perform duties. He told that the training of all polling staff had also been completed.
Sanitary workers demand release of salaries

GUJRANWALA: Sanitary workers of the Waste Management Department on Friday staged a demonstration against the management for not issuing their salaries for the last four months.
The protesters chanted slogans and said that they were facing problems due to non-payment of their salaries. The protesters vowed that their protest would continue till release of their salaries.
