17 booked for beating, robbing Lesco recovery team

OKARA: Basirpur police have booked two landowners and their 15 accomplices on the charges of beating and snatching cash and mobile phones from a Lesco recovery team at Panjeeripur village.
The Lesco team came to the village and asked landowners Ijaz and Maqbool to clear arrears otherwise their electricity connections would be cut off.
To it, the two landowners along with their 15 accomplices allegedly attacked and beat the Lesco team members, including Mohsin Syed and Muhammad Ahmad. The accused also snatched Rs 50,000 and mobile phones from them.
