Police claims arresting 184 POs in Oct

JHANG: Police Wednesday claimed arresting 184 proclaimed offenders and recovering weapons, snatched articles and narcotic drugs from their possession during the last month.
Addressing a media briefing, DPO Humayun Masood said police of City Jhang, Sadar Jhang, Shorkot and Ahmed Pur Sial circles arrested 184 POs, including 30 accused who were involved in murder, robbery and other heinous crimes besides 57 court absconders of categories A and B.
The DPO said one Kalashnikov, nine riffles, 17 shotguns, 37 pistols, four revolvers and 117 bullets were recovered from the outlaws.
He said police also recovered two kg heroin, 28 kg charas, five kg opium and 1,000 bottle liquor, including three operational liquor manufacturing outlets and looted valuables.
Meanwhile, on the directions of the DPO, the DSP City Saifullah Bhatti and model police station Kotwali’s SHO Mian Abid invited managers and owners of dealers and franchisee of multinational companies and impart them methods of enhancing security especially of their warehouses and during keeping and movement of heavy cash.
They were advised to consult police before assigning duties to newly hired security guards at warehouses.
