Rawalpindi win Inter-Region Under-19 Cricket tournament
KARACHI: Rawalpindi annihilated Faisalabad by an innings and two runs to win the final of the PCB Inter-Region Under-19 Cricket tournament at Mirpur Stadium in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, on Wednesday.
Faisalabad, who had conceded 197 runs lead, resumed their second innings at 51-2 and were bowled out for 195.
Abdul Samad scored 81 for which he consumed 168 balls and hammered 14 fours. Ali Reza (26) and Asad Raza (20) were the other main contributors.
Mohammad Waqar bowled well, picking 5-90, for 7-111 match figures. Mohammad Haroon claimed 3-53.
Faisalabad posted 133 in their first innings. In response, Rawalpindi piled up 330-6.
Rawalpindi were handed over Rs600,000, while Faisalabad received Rs300,000.
Besides, Rs50,000 each was given to Nasir Nawaz (Rawalpindi, man-of-the-match), Nasir Nawaz (Rawalpindi, best batsman, 637 runs), Asad Raza (best bowler, Faisalabad, 42 wickets), Asher Qureshi (best all-rounder, Karachi Blues, 205 runs and 30 wickets).
