PHC asks police to produce 5 sisters in court
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday directed the district police officer (DPO) of Hangu to produce five sisters in the court on the next hearing after their mother claimed they had been forcibly detained by her brothers-in-law.
A two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel and Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim directed the Hangu DPO to produce the girls and their uncle on the next hearing into the case.
The court issued directives in a writ petition of Bakht Mali Jana. She claimed that her brothers-in-law had forcibly detained her five daughters. The woman requested the court to get them released from her brothers-in-law.
Arshad Zaman, counsel for the petitioner, submitted before the bench that presently the petitioner woman was living at Darul Aman in Peshawar. He said her husband was killed in Jang district of Punjab province and she had taken refuge in Darul Aman due to danger to her life.
